The Book of Jonah [5/21/2026]
Disclaimer: I do not have a degree in theology, nor do I have any pastoral experience. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer but quite frankly there are many out there more qualified than me. I am just a Sunday school teacher. The Bible fascinates me in many ways. I do not and will never condone its usage for hateful rhetoric. If I write about the Bible it is due to personal conviction.
Do you remember that veggietales movie about Jonah? It was the only one I owned as a kid and honestly I probably only watched once or twice because its ending always confused me. For those who many not know the book of Jonah talks about the prophet [a messenger of God] Jonah who is tasked with informing the city of Nineveh that God will destroy their city if they did not repent and turned from their ways. Jonah filled with fear and reluctance runs away from his calling only to end up in the belly of a very large fish (does not say whale, but we can assume so). He is only spat back out due to admitting his sin and assuming his role as a prophet.
When he informs Nineveh, they actually turn from their bad behavior, fast, repent and turn to God. Because of this they are not destroyed and God has mercy upon them. This not only confuses but angers Jonah. He does not understand why God won't just simply destroy them since they were so wicked. God shows Jonah through the growth and death of a plant that He as the ultimate creator of all things is able to give and take away. Not only that but he is able to grant mercy unto them. And that's it. We don't get to know what happens after to Jonah or if he truly understood what God meant.
This whole book (which is quite small tbh only like 4 pages in my Bible) is about (in my opinion)the sovereignty of God (it is also about the mercy He has but that is a topic for another time). This is a fancy way of saying that God has control over everything, even when we do not understand. We cannot fathom how small decisions such as the plant's life or seemingly large decisions such as Nineveh's forgiveness and redemption are all part of God's ultimate plan. A plan we have no control of. As a kid I did not understand why the silly vegetable was so angry at the end.
Sometimes we can find ourselves like Jonah screaming "Why!?". We want to see revenge immediately, sometimes even taking it uon ourselves. We believe we know perfect justice. But here is the truth. We can't perfectly love or hate like God. Which is why revenge and forgiveness is His. This is all His. We do not know what Jonah did after but we can hope he let God handle it and prayed and rested in His mighty hands (Note: This is not to say that in modern times we should not let the proper authorities handle things, Jesus urges us to respect wordly authority and to always do what is right). Remember we are not saved by works, but by faith. Trusting in Him.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream!!! [4/18/2026]
by cutebeans 4/18/2026
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! TOMODACHI LIFE LIVING THE DREAM?! First of all, sorry for the long pause I got sick in the beginning of April and had to rest. In addition my job (which involves programming) has been mentally a lot recently and coding after work is not something I look foward to. However, this is not what this blog post is about. This blog post is about the new Nintendo release for Tomodachi Life.
As an early Gen Z kid we can relate to the absolute GRIP the silly Mii characters had on us. We can see their subtle influence on certain Nintendo media and for a while (after the Wii's release) they did not really capitalize on their use. So much so that the Nintendo switch version of Wii sports does not use Mii characters but some generic character models (disappointing). However, they totally made up for it with the release of Tomodachi life Living the Dream.
This was not in my 2026 Bingo card and if you would have told me in 2020 that Nintendo was realeasing a sequel to their 2009 video game I would have not believed you. BUT HERE WE ARE!!!RAAAAA!!! I have collected all Mii related games Wii sports, Wii Play, Wii Party, Miitopia, Tomodachi Life...and I am so happy to see this one join the collection. It came out on Thursday, April 16th, 2026 and I have been on that grind. I was slightly scared I would be disappointed but no! So many new things and many more I have yet to uncover.
The focus on customization is very enjoyable and the small details really capture me. For example, did you know you can tuck/untuck a mii character's shirt? Or that once you reach a certain level your island can exapand? You can also terraform and without extra cost you can add beaches, lakes, and so many other new things. A new Quick Build store offers a unique selection of items to decorate your new island. My favorite part of the game has to be the new Quirks your mii characters can have. You can make them eat, walk, talk and even greet in specific ways. This reminds me almost like a lego duplo version of the Sims.
Safe to say my friends I will be focusing on this game for a while

Artwork Section Up! [3/21/2026]
by cutebeans 3/21/2026
The artwork section is up! After the last post I focused on getting that section up as I feel like I had a lot of good content I could already upload. For context I have been drawing since Middle school for fun. It has been a long hobby of mine. At one point, like many,I thought of it being my profession but then abandoned that prospect after art school. It was not a negative experience as I gained a lot of new skills and knowledge, however I just noticed it was not for me. Art as a profession would be nice but then its relaxing charm would disappear for me. Therefore I took a break, studied something else, got a job and made it my hobby.
The inspiration for the page design itself was a classic retro arcade look. I love arcades and enjoy them, so why not make that the page theme? Next up, the about section!
A New Start [3/6/2026]
by cutebeans 3/6/2026
After using social media since the 7th grade I have noticed big toxic changes over the past 5 years. Addicting short form content, algorithm hell, generative ai-slop, beauty filters and many more... I have good reason to believe it is not a safe place any longer. Gone are the days of personalized blogs and enter the era of almost dystopian-like people that all want the same things, same trends and are fed the same news and slop over and over.
In 2020 I started to realize this when I started to feel ugly and strange since I did not look like any of the women being fed to me by my Tik Tok algorithm. After a lot of therapy and growth I can safely say I have been out of Tik Tok, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter (or X?) for a while (Tik tok being the first, been off it for 5 years).
I do not say this to elevate myself. I still struggle with short form content addiction since Youtube has Youtube shorts. I occasionally struggle with my self image due to trends making it out into the world. However, I can safely say I am much happier and freer since I let go of it all. Yay!
I want to remain creative and fight my addiction with hobbies that make me grow not shrink. I discovered that people still make blogs through this youtube channel. I have experience in programming and love making artwork in my freetime so why not combine the two? This will always be a work in progress. You will see my mistakes, my success and hopefully my personality show through.
